As an Assistant Accounting Manager at Chaw Management Co., Ltd., you will be responsible for overseeing the general ledger (GL) accounting functions for the holding company and our subsidiaries. This is a growth-oriented role designed with a clear succession path to the Manager position.
You will lead the month‑end and year‑end close, reconcile every GL/TB account, prepare management packs, produce annual financial statements, manage tax filings, and administer the ERP system. Beyond day-to-day operations, you will be expected to demonstrate leadership by mentoring junior staff, driving strategic process improvements, and acting as a key financial advisor to the management team. The role ensures full compliance with Thai GAAP/TFRS and tax laws while preparing you for the next step in your career.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Strategic Support
- Act as the second-in-command to the Accounting Manager, ready to step up and oversee department operations when required.
- Coach, mentor, and review the work of junior accountants to ensure high accuracy and foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Translate complex financial data into actionable strategic insights for senior management to support cost-saving and revenue-growth initiatives.
Period Close & Financial Reporting
- Lead and complete monthly and yearly closing on schedule with high accuracy.
- Reconcile all GL and TB accounts monthly (including Bank reconcile); investigate and clear reconciling items promptly.
- Prepare the monthly P&L meeting (variance analysis, KPIs, commentary) and present key financial highlights to stakeholders..
- Prepare annual financial statements (BS/PL/Notes) in accordance with TFRS/TAS.
- Own all journal entries (standard, accruals, adjustments, reclasses) and ensure adequate supporting documents and approvals.
- Oversee stock / inventory adjustments and reconcile sub-ledgers to GL.
- Maintain and control the fixed asset module in the ERP (capitalization, depreciation, disposals, tagging, physical count reconciliation).
Tax, Statutory Compliance & Audit Leadership
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, or a related field. (Master’s degree is a plus).
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably in a multinational or holding company structure.
- Demonstrated experience in reviewing others' work, leading small teams, or managing complex financial projects.
- Proven track record of partnering with cross-functional teams across multiple business units (e.g., F&B, Retail, Tech) to streamline financial workflows, improve reporting efficiency, and support business growth.
- **CPD license required.**
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of TFRS, GAAP, and local Thai tax regulations.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting software (NetSuite Oracle experience is highly preferred).
- Advanced Google Workspace/G Suite skills, especially Google Sheets (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
- Familiarity with AI productivity tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to optimize data analysis, reporting, and routine tasks.
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership potential with the ability to inspire and guide a team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and presentation abilities.
